Climate of Bahía Blanca

 

The city of Bahía Blanca has a semi-arid climate, with temperate and humid summers, followed by cold, dry winters. It is characterized by high thermal amplitude and a variable rainfall regime.

 

In the thermal aspect, the annual average value is 15.7ºC. Although the average temperature in January is 23.6ºC, and the maximum average is 30.8ºC, extremes of 43.8ºC (1980) have been recorded. Likewise, during the winter period, the coldest month is July, which has an average value of 7.0ºC, a minimum average of 3.0ºC and extreme values of up to -11.8ºC (2013).

 

The pattern of rainfall throughout the year presents a marked semi-dry season in the winter months and a total of 680 mm. The months of the beginning of the intermediate stations are the rainiest and, in turn, those that register the highest number of storms, March and October.
